Helping Your Child Learn

SchoolMate App

The Victorian Education Department has developed a wonderful app called SchoolMate which provides parents with a snapshot of the curriculum at each year level from Foundation to Year 10 along with a list of suggested books, activities and apps which supports learning at home. I encourage all parents to download this app to help them become more involved in their child’s education.

Want to find out more about what your child is learning at school in each subject at each year level?

Need practical tips about what you can do at home to help support your child's education?

SchoolMate is an essential App for parents of school-aged children in Victoria, Australia.

Learning is a lifelong process which does not stop at 3:30pm when the students leave school each day. The part you as parents play as partners in your child’s education is crucial.

ICAS

ICAS is developed by UNSW Global, a wholly owned subsidiary of the University of New South Wales, with over 35 years’ experience in educational assessments.

ICAS is designed to target students’ higher-order thinking and problem-solving skills in English, Mathematics, Science, Writing, Spelling and Digital Technologies.

Each assessment celebrates students’ accomplishments by providing opportunities for recognition. Every student will receive a certificate and an online result report. Top performers will be eligible for medals and are invited to attend special award ceremonies to have their academic excellence publicly recognised.

The assessments are suitable for students wishing to extend themselves academically and take up the personal challenge of competing in an international assessment.

ICAS Assessments are fast approaching. A kind reminder that the Assessments are now online which is a move that reflects a sector-wide transition to computer-based assessment. This shift allows greater accessibility for students and faster delivery of results.

Partnering with UNSW Global, we are proud to offer our students the ICAS Assessments for English, Mathematics, Science, Writing, Spelling and Digital Technologies.

We look forward to some fantastic results later in the year.

SEQTA

Students’ academic and behavioural progress is regularly updated on the school's learning management system: SEQTA which you can access online. We strongly encourage all our dearest parents to actively use Seqta in order to improve the home-school communication.

In addition to assessment tasks, you are also able to closely track the completion of your child’s home learning activities. Weekly homework tasks of Homework Booklets, Home Readers, Reading Eggs and Mathletics Activities have sections on seqta which the classroom teachers use to report the completion of these tasks.

*Note: Results gained from these homework sections do not affect the overall mark for that subject. They do not have a weighting value within the reporting system. These results are instead used by the parent-teacher team to monitor students’ responsibility on home learning activities.
